Shëngjin is a coastal town in the Lezha District, northwestern Albania. Shëngjin is a growing destination site, well known for its beaches and resort accommodations. Shëngjin is one of many cities within the District of Lezhë and is home to one of Albania’s entry ports, Port of Shëngjin. Shëngjn’s economy is focused around two major industries: seaport and tourism. In Shengjin there are excellent beautiful beaches, on which you can take a long walk, enjoying the beautiful natural scenery. Pines are everywhere here and create a unique atmosphere, a combination of sea and pine air helps you to relax. Shengjin’s district, Lezhe, has thousands of years of history that has provided this beach city with a unique Mediterranean culture. Home to some of the most historic and heroic moments in Albania’s history, the Lezhe district has become well known for its history as much as its sandy coastline. The people of Shengjin, like the rest of the people of Albania, are known for their hospitality.
What to see
Beaches - Shengjin’s coastline offers a great beach experience with great views to the Adriatic Sea.
Rana e Hedhun - This is a undeveloped stretch of coastline just north of the city well known for its sand dunes and seascape near the mountain ridge.
Kune & Vain (Laguna) - Located just south of the city, this area is well known for its natural beauty and wildlife.
Mountains - The surrounding mountain ridge provides great views to the sea as well as the city

Cash dispensing machines are ubiquitous. Most hotels, restaurants and shops accept credit cards (American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa) and you can also pay with Euro or Dollar in them. Foreign currency can be exchanged in banks, exchange offices, travel agencies, hotels, cheques can be cashed in banks. Just outside the port area you can easily find banks or exchange offices. (National Bank of Albania is just in front of Port Entrance). In Albania you can easily pay also in Euro or USD.

The distance from the Port of Shengjin to the center of the city, to Mother Theresa Boulevard, is about 1 kilometer by car or bus and walking that same distance to the center its some 6-7 minutes. The taxis are just outside the entrance of the port and the fare to take you to the center would be 400 lek.
Shengjin is one of the youngest city ports developed in the past decade and you will see along your short “trip” to Shengjin center that the city gives you an impression of a new and modern small town. In history is mentioned from the battles of Cesar and Pompey and for some time, the town had the name of the President Woodrow Wilson, still honored today with the name of a promenade in Shengjin. Along the way to the center, passing by coffee’s you’ll also note it’s quite pure coastline on the other side.
